The Queen of Hearts She made some tarts, All on a summer’s day;
The Knave of Hearts He stole those tarts, And took them clean away.
The King of Hearts Called for the tarts, And beat the knave full sore;
The Knave of Hearts Brought back the tarts, And vowed he’d steal no more.
We know of no nursery rhyme featuring a Queen of Tarts, but Barry Moser’s inventive reinvention is far more charismatic!
The Mother Goose portfolio was issued in an edition of 300, with 100 copies retained by the artists, 100 copies retained by Serigrafia, and 100 copies donated to The Children’s Health Fund for sale at an initial offering price of $5000. The portfolio was designed by Chiu Li Design.
