Sarai Sherman celebrates 1960s music and psychedelia in her 1969 portfolio, “Folk Rock Blues and Flower Children,” but more than that each of the prints in the portfolio speaks to the zeitgeist of the late 1960s. The prints in this portfolio represent and capture the lines and color, the grit, the hypnotic power, the voices and bodies, and the timelessness of Woodstock that still resonate in myriad ways fifty years later.
“Lucy,” the second print in the portfolio, focuses on the words of the Beatles’ Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. Watercolor-like washes of jewel-like color combine with John Lennon’s and Paul McCartney’s psychedelic verse.
This engraving was pulled in Rome by Renzo Romero in November 1969 in a tiny edition of only 35 copies on Fabriano’s Rosaspina mould-made paper.
Custom framed using strictly conservation-grade materials in a black frame behind 99% UV-blocking art glass.
